The Arkansas Razorbacks have landed one of their top recruiting targets for the class of 2027, as a prized 4-star quarterback from Irvine, California, has announced his commitment following two visits to Fayetteville in the span of a week.

Caden Jones, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound signal-caller, chose Arkansas over nearly 40 other offers, including those from LSU, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M. His decision comes after building a strong bond with the Razorbacks’ staff and experiencing the program’s culture up close.

“After everything I’ve seen and experienced here, I know Arkansas is the only place I can truly feel at home,” Jones said. “The family atmosphere, the relationships I’ve built with Coach Sam Pittman, Coach Miles Fishback, and Coach Bobby Petrino — it just feels like the perfect fit for me.”

Jones has completed 90-of-122 passes for 1,069 yards, 12 touchdowns, and only two interceptions across 14 varsity games at Crean Lutheran High School. Though primarily a pocket passer, he’s also shown mobility, averaging 16 yards per carry with two rushing touchdowns in his sophomore season.

The reputation of Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino played a major role in Jones’ decision. Petrino’s track record of developing top quarterbacks, including Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson, helped seal the commitment.

“My goal is to play in an NFL-style offense, and learning from a coach like Coach Petrino who has developed quarterbacks at the highest level really excites me,” Jones added.

The Razorbacks, who finished in the top 10 nationally in total offense last season, will add Jones to a quarterback room that includes Taylen Green, Trever Jackson, K.J. Jackson, and Grayson Wilson. Jones said he plans to return in the fall for a gameday visit.

“My family and I are excited to come back and see a game, explore the campus more, and soak in the atmosphere at Razorback Stadium,” Jones said. “I can’t wait to be part of it.
