Put Some Respect on Jalen!” Eagles Legend Brandon Graham Blasts QB Rankings, Disses Josh Allen
Philadelphia Eagles legend Brandon Graham is never one to mince words — and this week, he let the NFL world know exactly how he feels about the latest quarterback rankings that disrespected his former teammate, Jalen Hurts.
In a recent appearance on Philadelphia’s WIP radio, the newly retired two-time Super Bowl champion didn’t hold back when responding to Pro Football Focus’ latest QB rankings. The list had Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills ranked second behind Patrick Mahomes, while Hurts came in at fifth — a placement Graham called “disrespectful.”
“You’ve got Josh Allen who’s been to the AFC Championship every year but just can’t seem to beat Mahomes,” Graham said. “That boy Jalen went to the Super Bowl. Came back and went again. Josh Allen hasn’t even sniffed one.”
Graham’s comments echo a growing sentiment among Eagles fans who feel that Hurts, despite his accolades and performances in the biggest games, continues to be underrated in national conversations.
Hurts, who led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances — winning one and earning MVP honors in Super Bowl LIX — has become the face of Philadelphia football. His leadership, toughness, and big-game performances have cemented his place as one of the league’s premier quarterbacks.
Josh Allen, on the other hand, continues to be lauded for his arm talent and highlight-reel plays. But as Graham pointed out, the Bills have yet to reach the Super Bowl during Allen’s tenure, despite consistently being among the AFC’s top contenders.
“This isn’t just about flash. It’s about finishing. It’s about results,” Graham said. “Hurts finishes. Hurts leads. He deserves to be higher [in the rankings], and everyone in Philly knows it.”
The longtime Eagle also subtly criticized the media narrative surrounding Allen, suggesting that certain quarterbacks get more favorable treatment simply based on popularity or aesthetics rather than production.
While analysts argue Allen’s consistency and stats justify his lofty ranking, Graham emphasized the importance of postseason success — and in that department, Hurts has the edge.
“Let’s not act like it’s close. Jalen went toe-to-toe with Mahomes and won. Allen can’t get past him,” Graham said. “The league needs to stop ignoring that.”
With Hurts entering his prime and the Eagles still firmly in contention, Graham believes it’s only a matter of time before national pundits are forced to admit the obvious: Jalen Hurts is elite — and belongs near the top of every quarterback ranking.
Whether or not his words change any minds at PFF, Graham’s passionate defense of Hurts shows that the Eagles’ locker room — past and present — remains fiercely loyal to their QB1.
