Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has quickly made a name for herself in the WNBA, and her standout performance this season has left other teams regretting their decision to pass on her in the 2024 Draft. Since being selected seventh overall by the Sky, Reese has showcased her dominance on the court, averaging 13.3 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

Reese’s rebounding prowess has been particularly impressive. She leads the league with an average of 13.2 rebounds per game and has recorded several standout performances, including 15, 16, 19, 20, and 22 rebounds in individual games since the Olympic break. Her ability to control the glass has been a significant factor in her early success.

In the debut episode of her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” Reese opened up about the attention she’s received from players on teams that chose other rookies over her. She revealed that players from those teams have expressed regret over their draft decisions. “Players on other teams say, ‘I wish we drafted you,’” Reese shared. “Teams that were above me, the players that got drafted above me, and it was nothing against their rookies that got drafted, but they were like, ‘I wish we were teammates. I wish we drafted you.’”

Reese’s response to this acknowledgment from her peers has been one of gratitude. “It feels really good to know (veterans) really want to play with me, and love me, and really respect me, and respect my game,” she said. “They tell me all the time, ‘You’re going to be in this league for a while, just because of how hard you work and your grind.’”

The 2024 WNBA Draft saw the following top seven picks:
