Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has recently addressed rumors regarding her absence from the remainder of the 2024 WNBA season. Initially, Reese confirmed that she is sidelined due to a wrist injury, specifically a “small crack” in a bone in her right hand. The injury required surgical intervention, which she opted for to mitigate risks associated with non-surgical treatment. Reese is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will be in a cast for six weeks.

However, following the announcement of her injury, speculation began to circulate online suggesting that Reese’s injury was a cover for a different reason—namely, that she is pregnant. This speculation gained traction despite no substantial evidence to support the claims, and it has caused a stir among fans and media.

To address these unfounded rumors and clear the air, Reese took to Instagram Live on September 8. During the live session, she firmly denied the pregnancy rumors, stating, “I’m not pregnant, that was never a thing.” She further elaborated, “I want to make this crystal, crystal, crystal clear: I don’t have a man to have kids; I don’t have a ring to have kids; I’m 22 with no kids, and I’m not coming home to kids. So that’s not gonna be a thing any time soon.”

In addition to addressing the pregnancy rumors, Reese also dispelled other related speculations, including those about her personal life. She clarified that she is not currently dating anyone, which may have fueled some of the rumors.

Reese’s injury and upcoming surgery have been significant news for the Sky, as she was leading the league in rebounding for the 2024 season. Her absence will be felt as the team continues its campaign. Despite the setback, Reese remains focused on her recovery and looks forward to returning to her routine once her hand heals.
