49ers Sign Terrace Marshall Jr. and Ke’Shawn Vaughn to Practice Squad
The San Francisco 49ers have bolstered their practice squad with the additions of wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. and running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn.
Terrace Marshall Jr.
- Background: Marshall Jr. (6-2, 200 lbs) was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (59th overall). He has accumulated experience over a three-year career (2021-2023) with the Panthers.
- Career Stats: In 36 games (16 starts) with Carolina, Marshall Jr. recorded 64 receptions for 767 yards and one touchdown. In the 2023 season, he appeared in nine games (four starts), notching 19 receptions for 139 yards.
- College: The 24-year-old from Bossier City, LA, played at Louisiana State University for five years (2018-2021), where he made 106 receptions for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns in 32 games (20 starts).
Ke’Shawn Vaughn
- Background: Vaughn (5-10, 214 lbs) was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft (76th overall). His four-year NFL career includes appearances in 43 games (one start).
- Career Stats: Vaughn has amassed 103 carries for 384 yards (3.7 average) and two touchdowns on the ground. He has also contributed 14 receptions for 81 yards (5.8 average) and one touchdown through the air. In 2023, he played six games, with 24 carries for 42 yards and two receptions for two yards.
- College: The 27-year-old from Nashville, TN, started his college career at the University of Illinois before transferring to Vanderbilt University. At Vanderbilt, Vaughn played 46 games (29 starts), rushing for 3,296 yards and 30 touchdowns on 572 carries, and catching 67 passes for 664 yards and three touchdowns.
Both players were signed to the practice squad following their previous stints. Vaughn, who had a brief tenure with the 49ers earlier in August before being waived, is back with the team. These additions are part of the 49ers’ ongoing strategy to build depth and flexibility within their roster.
