The Boston Bruins received a major boost as defenseman Hampus Lindholm returned to practice this week for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on November 12 against the St. Louis Blues. Lindholm, who had been placed on long-term injured reserve, skated in a non-contact jersey during Wednesday’s session, marking an important step in his recovery. Although he will not be available for the Bruins’ upcoming game against the Ottawa Senators, his return to practice is an encouraging sign for the team.
Lindholm revealed that he broke a bone while blocking a shot, but tried to skate through the pain until it became clear that something wasn’t right. Despite the setback, Lindholm expressed his optimism: “It’s always nice to be out there with the guys,” he said, adding, “Getting some laughter in and shooting on some goalies is always nice for a change.”
Lindholm also shared how difficult it was to watch from the sidelines, especially during the Bruins’ six-game losing streak, which was snapped by an overtime victory over the Florida Panthers. “We’re all a team in here, especially when you feel like the boys could use a little additional help. It’s terrible when you can’t be out there,” Lindholm remarked.
Though there is no clear timeframe for his return to full action, Lindholm’s recovery progress and positive attitude give the Bruins a much-needed morale boost as they look to stabilize their season.
